Be sure to check out
Savage Flower Kingdom. It's a sweet, rules-lite tabletop RPG inspired by JRPGs like the
Final Fantasy series and I dig the art aesthetic, too. The most recent release is a
setting sourcebook that could be easily adapted to other rules-lite systems.
Be sure to scroll through all the entries under the
Savage Flower Kingdom tag, as there are several beasts and player classes also posted. The most recent version of the rules is
version 2.
Robertson Sondoh, Jr. is a genius at designing small, rules-lite, print-&-play games. He's got many of them linked through his blog; some are solos, but many are two-player minigames. He really needs to pull a downloads page together, but if you click through his blog archive you'll be able to find most of them.
